Between (a) Peter Bettesworth of Elsted, yeo., and

 

(b) John Bettesworth of Chithurst, yeo., of the Manor of Chithurst, as follows

 

The said Peter to hold the Manor house and one little garden plot lying on the E. side thereof, one little droveway from the gate before the said manor house down to the River as then paled, the upper Gateroom and a little barn standing therein, a little garden plot on the NW side of the said barn, a little heye house and certain grounds on the N and W sides of the said manor house down to the River and more lying on the S side of the River and on the W side of the lane leading from Chithurst Bridge towards the South heath, 2 closes lying then in one severall called the Upper Ambletts, a close called the Hither Ipinge field, the west half or hether part of the ... meade, a close called the Heyfields on the north end of the hither Iping field, a close divided in two called the Brook field adjoining to the Brook called Harford Brook, the south part of a wood called Adder Wood adjoining to the Brookfield, the W part of a field called the Stone Field, 3 fields called the Brase fields, viz. the Upper Brase field and the two Middle Brase fields, one lane leading to the meadow and Iping Field from Iping Rayles eastward, a wood called Yard wood adjoining to Harford Brook, a messuage or tenement with barns, orchards, lands &c. lately holden by copy of court roll of the said manor of Chithurst by one Peter Bettesworth and then in the occ. of Richard Bettesworth his brother, a messuage or tenement with barns, orchard, gardens, lands &c. in the tenure of Richard Quenell in right of his wife and lands called Lobsters in the tenure of Ayling holden by copy of court roll of the said manor of Chithurst and a tenement or cottage and 4a. land belonging called Chawlies in the tenure of William Pannell

 

The said John Bettesworth to hold: Two closes then in one severall called Neither Ambletts adjoining to the More lying upon the W side of the lane leading from Chithust towards the South heath, a little meadow and a coppice thereunto adjoining lying beneath Chithurst bridge, the neather part of the Great Mead, the lower wood, two closes called Iping Fields, i.e. the Yonder Iping Field and the Neither Wood field, the N part of Adder Wood from the bank in the middle of the said wood to the lane, the E part of Stonfield next Adder wood, a close called the Yards, 3 closes called the Brase fields, i.e. the neither two Brase fields and the lower Brase field adjoining to the lane leading to Gatehouse on the S and to Mr. Henry Lewkenor's coppice hold on the W, an orchard and a little garden plott thereto adjoining on the S side of the lane leading towards a house called Totyes house, one great barn on the W side of the highway from Chithurst bridge towards Home Hill and one gate room behind the said barn down to the River as then paled out and a little wast ground between Chithurst church and the River and one little hopp garden on the E of the lane, one messuage or tenement with barns, orchards, gardens, lands &c. called Totyes in the tenure of Nicholas Totty holden by copy of court roll of the said manor, a messuage or tenement with barns, orchards, gardens, lands &c. called Fullers in the tenure of the said John Bettesworth and lately holden by copy of court roll of the said manor by the said Richard Bettesworth decd., a messuage or tenement with barns, orchards, gardens, lands &c. called Coppyd hall holden by copy of court roll of the said manor by Robert Betfold and lands and pasture called Rowles lately holden by copy of court roll of the said manor by one Thomas Bettesworth to the use of the said John Bettesworth
