The examination of Gilbard Welch of "Falley" before Andrew Studley, mayor, declaring that a girl of 14 years of age, the daughter of Richard Staeye of Stone in the parish of "Fawley", Saltmaker, found a gold seal ring "weyinge by estomac on five angells which she tooke upp by the seaside within the full sea marcke at a place caled the Saltrons then present Joane Gibbes of Stone Father burtes daughter, stacys sone, her brother and this examinate".
