(1) Richard Aylwin the elder of Stedham, yeoman

 

(2) William Ayling of Stedham, yeoman

 

In view of the marriage of Richard, son of Richard the elder to Agnes, daughter of William, and in consideration of a portion of £160 paid by William to Richard the younger; Richard the elder conveys to his son:- 5 closes of arable and pasture land, containing 26a., called Longcroft in Pagham: and 7 closes of arable and pasture, containing 30a. called Northlands in Stedham and Woolbeding

 

To hold to the use of Richard the elder during his life, paying yearly to William £--; and afterwards to the use of Richard the younger. If Richard pre-deceases his father, the remainder is to William, and the said rent is to be paid to Agnes and her heirs, with £4 more p.a. to be added. If Richard outlives he is to pay £14 p.a. to William
