The Gloucestershire and N. Avon Catholic History Society have produced a pamphlet entitled "Baptisms and confirmations at Woodchester, 1846-1859" which contains a transcript and translation of registers D6145/1/1 and D6145/1/2; and a personal names index to entries therein

Administrative / biographical background:

The register of baptisms D6145/1/1 contains the signature of Father Dominic Barberi, leader of the Italian Passionist fathers, Catholic Church. The Passionist fathers left Woodchester in 1850 and the register of baptisms D6145/1/2; and subsequent records relate to the Dominican mission which replaced them. The church of Our Lady of the Annunciation was consecrated in October 1849, and the Priory opened in 1853.
