Description:

Folio 153. John Hyde at Chart, to Andrew Stone, esq., suggesting that the rebel clans' followers should be offered indemnity for life, if they joined the king's troops, as he believes there to be an act which absolves clan members from following their leaders, under tenure, in times of rebellion. Clan members involved in failed skirmishes, could also be pardoned, as this would jeopardize the rebels' cause.
