Subject: Demise of their manors of Avon, Avon Tyrrell [in Sopley] and Milton and their lands, etc, in Ripley [in Sopley] and Sopley, a messuage, land and rent in Avon, Ripley and Sopley which John de Sulley, knight, and Isabel his wife held for her life, and land and rent in Avon, Ripley, Sopley and Mardyng otherwise Murdyng [ Murding, now merged with Hurn in Christchurch], late of John de Knottyngle and Isabel his wife, all which manors, lands, etc, they had from Robert Darcy, esquire, and John Staunford, with others deceased [William Alnewyk, Bishop of Lincoln; William Lynwode, Bishop of Menevia (St Davids); Ralph de Cromwell, knight; Nicholas Dixon, clerk; Richard Shipley]; and demise to the said John Marney and others of the lands, etc, late of John Champlour in Milton, Avon, Ripley, Sopley, Murdyng and Shirley Fen [now Shirley Common in Sopley] and elsewhere in the hundred of Christchurch which they had from Henry late Bishop of Winchester, Cardinal of England, Thomas Thame, and others, deceased. Appointment of Robert Moyle and Henry Tolowe attorneys for livery of seisin. Inspeximus by the Mayor and Alderman of London, 14 Edward IV, at the request of Thomas Tyrell, knight. .
