Seven bundles of correspondence and ships' papers. Includes:

  • Three bundles of correspondence (1793) from Saint Domingue to France [carried on an unknown ship]
  • Two bundles of correspondence (1778) in English and French from Pondichery, Bengal, with papers of the French ship Carnatic, (Captain Le Loup de Beaulieu) travelling from Pondichery to Lorient, France.
  • One bundle of correspondence and papers (1793) from the Isle de Bourbon [Reunion] to France, mainly relating to the French National Convention, including duplicates of correspondence from officials on the island to the French naval minister. With copies of the pamphlet Courrier Francais, nos. 130, 132-140 (10 May 1793 to 20 May 1793).
  • One bundle marked as Captain Stephen Decateur's papers (1793), consisting of receipts and correspondence. Stephen Decateur was captain of the american ship Arialor Aerial sailing from Philadelphia to Charlestown and then Le Havre, France.
