Folio 39: Captain R. Athy, Mermaid. Has sent up the monthly books to Mr. Hale, Clerk of the Cheque at Sheerness, today. They were delayed due to the death of the Purser and the Clerk being sick. Previously he asked for a Pilot, having received orders for immediate sailing and have now anchored near the buoy at Red Sands awaiting the first wind to take them over the flats. Has sent up the books and papers left by his predecessor to be disposed of. |
