Description: |
Folio 125: Richard Hale and John Daniell, Sheerness. They have checked Mr. Butler's bills and his straight timber is less than the contract calls for, but compass timber more, so that the two balance and the treenails bill matches the contract. Sir Edward Gregory has directed that no bill should be paid until everything due under the contract has been completed. The Clerk of the Survey and the Master Shipwright are to blame for not noting this on the back of all bills. Enclosed in f123. |
