To: The Local Government Act Office.

From: N Jowett, Clerk to the Idle Local Board, Idle, [Yorkshire].

A letter and a copy of a letter sent to the Office from the Idle Local Board on 23 March 1871. A Jowett request that the Office will reply to the letter sent on 23 March and encloses the copy.

The copied letter is one informing the Office that the Idle Local Board are desirous of carrying out street improvement works in their District, for which property will have to be bought up, necessitating the use of powers under the Lands Consolidation Clauses Act, and requesting that the Office will advise the Idle Board on what kind of plan of such works will be necessary to gain the Home Secretary's approval of them.
