Originally deposited temporarily by the late Mr P Liddell, Warwick, for listing, 17 March 1975, and transferred to permanent deposit on 28 April 1981

Note The Warwick Hall Estate was sold by Robert Warwick (formerly Bonner), Esq., a bankrupt, to Thomas Parker for £45,000, in 1822. The Warwicks themselves had died out in the direct male line in 1772 on the death of Francis Warwick; his sister Ann died unmarried in 1774.

The Parkers were originally of Old Town, High Hesket, later also of Warwick Hall (bought 1822), Skirwith Abbey (bought 1822), Petteril Green, Carleton Hill (Penrith), and The Laithes (Skelton). They sold Old Town in 1889.
