Handwritten letter addressed to 'Dear Bert' from 'Your loving Brother Reg' 4 Renshaw Street, Greenheys, Manchester. Writer tells Cpl. Willmott that he is 'jolly and happy' and has had a good Christmas. He describes his work producing cloth for the Government - mostly going to German Prisoners of War and refers to some of his fellow workers managing '...to dodge the authorities..' Tells Cpl. Willmott that he has changed his mind about joining up and will wait until he is called up. Refers to newspapers reports regarding conscientious objectors - 'conchies' and writes that '...some would make your blood boil, the slackers.' Refers to the standard of acts appearing at the music halls. He also gives news regarding neighbours and friends also serving in the forces - Cyril Burrows, Harold Dell and George and Willie (possibly brothers of Harold Dell). Refers to difficulty his father is having with his work due to the war and generally describes the atmosphere among Cpl. Willmotts family over Christmas.
