Description:

Declaration of Mary Alice Farmer late of Sutton Maddock, now Madeley, spinster, sister of William Farmer snr. aged 42. She knew Joseph Yates and his 2 daughters, Mary Ann and Elizabeth. He was only married once and only had the 2 children. Mary Ann died December 1826 and was buried at Stockton. Joseph died 14 December 1827 leaving Elizabeth. He was buried at Stockton.

 

Elizabeth on 28 May 1818 married Mary Alice Farmer's brother William and had several sons and daughters - the eldest a son born 24 January 1819, William, died at 6 months; the second, a daughter, the third a son born 30 June 1822 called William - both still living. Elizabeth died on 16 December 1827. William Farmer and his son William and the other children went to Canada in 1834.
