By James Piggott of Stedham, yeoman, Thomas Saunders, yeoman, Nicholas Eames and Richard Fry, butcher, Inhabitants of Stedham, to Thomas Ayling of Stedham, yeoman, Margaret Ayling, widow, Ogle Riggs, yeoman, Elizabeth Rudman, widow, William Barkshire, yeoman, Robert Ayling, yeoman, William Ayling senr., William Ayling junr., yeoman, Richard Ayling, yeoman, Daniell Knight, yeoman, John Chandler, yeoman, and Robert Cartwright, yeoman, all inhabitants of Stedham, of All tithes, great and small, of corn, grain, hay and herbage yearly growing upon their several lands within the parish of Stedham, to commence from a farm called Bowley and Woolhouse and from thence southward to the utmost bounds of the said parish of Stedham. Term, 10 years and 50 weeks, if John Peachey should so long continue Rector of the said 'Rectoridge' but if he should happen to die in any of the said years before the harvest was in, then the lesees should pay no more rent to the lessors than what they should receive

 

Rent, so long as the said John Pechey should continue rector, by Thos. Ayling, £2. 11. 0¼.; by Margaret Ayling, £2. 8. 9¾.; by Ogle Riggs, £1. 8. 1½.; by Eliz. Rudman, £1.15. 9½.; by Wm. Barkshire £1. 15. 9.; by Robert Wyling, £7. 16. 3¾.; by Wm. Ayling, £6. 16. 10½. by Wm. Ayling junr., £3. 15. 9¼; by Richard Ayling, £5. 5. 11.; by Daniell Knight, £2. 12. 6.; by John Chandler, £1. 19. 0¾.; and by Robert Cartwright, 7s. 6d. Which said tithes were leased to the lessors of the present lease by deed of 25 June, 1729 by John Pechey of Heyshott for 11 years, if the said John should so long continue rector of the said rectoridge of Stedham, at the rent of £105. 5
