Bridport Grammar School was formerly known as Bridport Secondary School and was founded by a deed of 5 Nov 1907 and opened in a ceremony held on 30 Jul 1909. The first headmaster was Walter Ferris Hill, former headmaster of the Pupil Teacher Centre. In the Governors' minutes, the change in name from Bridport Secondary School to Bridport Grammar School was made from the meeting held in February 1928 onwards. The Grammar School was replaced by the Colfox School in 1956. |
