I, Thomas Seyntiohn, son of Sir Thomas Ponyngges Lord St. John, grant for their lives to Richard Cressewell of Westerton and Elizabeth his daughter a messuage, a garden adjoining, and 8 acres of arable in [West]hamptonet parish, formerly of John Godewyne. They shall render to me for my life, thereafter to my father and to Sir Hugh de St. John my brother, and to the heirs of my father and of Hugh, 4 s. a year; if this is a fortnight in arrear I may distrain. Warranty. We, Thomas Ponyngges, Lord St. John, and High Seyntiohn, aforesaid, confirm this. Sealed interchangeably. Witnesses, Sir Walter, Vicar of Hamptonet, Thomas Legarde, John Vppe, William Smethe, Philip Smethe of Westerton. Westerton, 14 March 1418.
