Collection of 28 ms letters to his sister written during his service with the RFC and RAF (May 1917 - November 1918) describing his pilot's training at the School of British Naval Aviation at Vendôme, France (May 1917) and his subsequent service as an instructor at RFC Narborough, Norfolk (c. December 1917 - March 1918), at Beaulieu, Hampshire (March - April 1918) and at RAF Yatesbury, Wiltshire (May-September 1918); with the Devonshire Regiment (March 1920); with the 3rd and 4th Nigeria Regiment based near Port Harcourt and at Ibadan, Nigeria (October 1921 - April 1924); with the 2nd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment in Aden and in India (February 1926 - March 1927) and containing some interesting comments on his isolation while living in Nigeria, his reflections on Islam and on the British attitude towards India.
