Yalding Vestry was extremely active and had several committees. The largest of these was the Workhouse Committee or Committee for the Relief of the Poor which itself was known as the Vestry. This dealt with casual relief, later with the administration of the poor house, and in 1795 for the administration of the workhouse built in that year on School House Green for £250. |
