Reference: Ep/VI/I/4
Title: LIBER E
Description:

Although many documents from Liber E have been printed during the past century there is no complete list of its contents in existence and, apart from those documents translated by Mr. Peckham, no indication of where a particular document has been printed. This calendar is not intended to include every citation of Liber E but only those in local journals and the following works:-

Walcott, Statutes of the Cathedral (1877)

Swainson, Chichester Cathedral (1880)

Bennet, Codrington and Deedes, Statutes of Cathedral (1904). Cited as B.C.D.

The numbers without any citation are to the documents printed in the Cartulary of Chichester Cathedral (Sussex Rec. Soc., vol. 46) by Mr. Peckham and this calendar must be used in conjunction with that volume. All printed references are to the early foliation of Liber E which dates from the period when Libri D and E formed one volume; this foliation is added in brackets after the modern folio numbers.
