This Pro-forma nautical dairy and day's work book for 1895 produced by James Brown and Son, Nautical Publishers, Glasgow. This volume contains advertisements for maritime suppliers and reference tables. The volume gives details of voyages between the United Kingdom and the Far East, with ports of call including Calcutta, London, Cardiff, Bombay, Hamburg, Middlesbrough, Antwerp, Yokohama, Falmouth, Kobe, Batavia, Sourabaya and Port Said.

 

There is a letter pasted in to volume dated 27th November 1925 from Captain F H Miller to F M Sutcliffe, Keeper of the Whitby Museum, explaining the reasons for depositing this particular volume and giving anecdotes of the voyage.
