Description:

Gift with warranty from Robert de Barewe, William Reod and Robert le Palmar' of Styvechhale to Thomas Parker' of Coventr' and Emma his wife of a messuage with a curtilage and appurtenances and 1½ acres of arable land in Styvechale; which said messuage and curtilage lie between the tenement of the bishop of Coventr' and Lich' and the tenement of Sir William de Careswell', knight; and half an acre of land lies on le Ruyecroft' between the land of Sir William de Careswelle, knight, and the land of John Huwet; half an acre upon Cassewalleforlong' between the land of the parson of the church of Bathekynton' and the land of Thomas le Baillif'; and half an acre 'into' Wodecoteslade between the land once belonging to Geoffrey de Whyteleye and the land of Thomas le Baillif'; to hold the same for ever, rendering annually to the wardens and guardians of the chapel of St. James of Styvechale for the maintenance of the fabric of the same, 12 pence at Michaelmas, and rendering due and customary service to the chief lord.

 

Witnesses: Robert de la Cloude, Thomas Baillif', Alexander de Schirford', John son of the same, William son of John de Canleye and others.

 

Dated at Styvechale, Monday next after the feast of St. James, 31 Edward III.

i) a Roman male head and shoulders to the right

Endorsed: i) Carta de tenemento in Styvechale quondam Thome Parker et Emme uxoris eius prout patet inferiorem etc.

 

ii) a grant of Robert Palmer and others to Tho. Parker of a messuadge with the appurtenances and an acre and a halfe in Stychale. Edw. 3, 31.
