Description:

Directs that he should be buried in the chancel of Petworth [church] and a marble stone be placed over his grave [details of inscription]; legacies to [blank] Yeomans, his sister-in-law (dau. of Sarah Luttman), Samuel Ayling of Petworth, gent., and Peter Luttman of Petworth, tallow chandler, in trust for said sister-in-law, Charles Goring of Wiston, his cousin (in trust to pay debts of testator's late father), Isabella Nash of Bury St. Edmunds, co. Suffolk, widow of the Rev. Charles Nash, late brother of testator, Louisa Scawen, Mary Butcher of Reigate spinster, George Tidy (son of the late Mary Tidy, now Mary Smith, dau. of John Tidy of Crawley, husbandman, which said George is supposed child of testator), the said Mary Smith, Mary and Sarah Slade (daus. of Mary Cheasley, late Mary Slade), the dau. of Sarah Norton (late Sarah Best, spinster, sister of said Mary Cheasley, and which dau. was sent to the Foundling Hospital, Michaelmas 1759), the said Mary Cheasley and servants of testator [names given]; bequeaths money for the maintenance of Thomas Balcomb, infant son of John Balcomb of Reigate, shoemaker, to assist in binding him apprentice; bequeaths real estate [no details given] and residuary personal estate to said Charles Goring.

 

Executor: Charles Goring, his cousin.

 

Codicil bequeaths money to said exor. to be invested to the use of Robert, Jane and Matilda Yeomans, children of Jane Yeomans, sister-in-law of testator.
