Alice de Insula, lady of [Church] Stowe, widow, and Aubrey de Walkerne. n.d.

 

Alice has granted to Aubrey, for his laudable service, an annual rent of 40s. in the vill of Nethereheyford which she had by grant of William le Flemyng, from the feast of St. John before the Latin Gate, 21 Edw. I [6 May 1293], for a term of 16½ years; derived from William de la Grene for a virgate held freely, 4s. a year; from Robert in le Levis for a virgate in villeinage, 18s. a year; from Richard Amfolit for a half-virgate in villeinage, 9s. a year; from Henry the shepherd (bercarius) for a messuage and 5 a. in villeinage, 6s. a year; and from William Swete for a cottage in villeinage, 3s. a year.
