Immediate source of acquisition:

Formerly in the collection of Sir Thomas Phillipps (1792-1872), being Phillipps MSS. 7145 and 7793. See paper label on spine '7145, 7793', and inscription on flyleaf (f. 4v): '7145 idem cum 7793 Ph'. The Phillipps catalogue describes 7145 as 'Brand's collection relating to Sion College, 4to' and 7793 as 'Brand's collections for Sion College 4to, pale russia'. Lot 416 in an unidentified (?Sotheby's sale), presumably one of the Phillipps sales between 1886 and 1946. See the sale catalogue description at f. 5r. The sale must have been held in 1893 or later, since the inscription 'T.F.F. 1893' occurs at f. 132v. This was written by Thomas Fitzroy Fenwick, grandson of Sir Thomas Phillipps. Transferred from Sion College to Lambeth Palace Library, 1996.
