Sale particulars; Nether Swell Manor Nether Swell Manor was built between 1903 and 1909 for the Scott family and from 1933 was owned by the Shennan family. In 1945 it became Hill Place School, a boys' preparatory school which had been evacuated from Kent early in the Second World War. The school continued until 1969 when the property was purchased by Luton Borough Council for use as a Field Studies Centre. It was subsequently acquired by Bedfordshire County Council who continued to run it as a field centre for Bedfordshire children until it closed shortly before it was offered for sale |
