Concerning his journey to Bath via Warwick and Cirencester, the society there which includes Mrs Jefferies who 'lives in Gay Street in this place where she has a handsome house and a fashionable establishment supported by a good, most probably large, fortune. She is the sister of John Wilkes Esq of ci devant political fame. She was the widow of Alderman Hayley who at one time represented the city of London in Parliament and is now the wife of a person residing in America to whom it is said she has given £10,000 on condition that he never comes into England during her life' and social events
