Marriage settlement (soon after the event) of Frescheville Dykes of "Warthole alias Wardayle", gent., son and heir of Leonard Dykes of Ellen Hall Esq. and Grace his wife, parties hereto, and Jane, one of the sisters of Gilfrid Lawson of Brayton, gent., 2nd party hereto with Joshua Laythes of Dale Head gent., and with Alexander Collingwood of Little Ryle (Northumberland) gent. and Cuthbert Osmotherley of Langrigg gent., 3rd party - settles on his Trustees the Dykes manors of "Warthole alias Wardaile" and "Gilcross alias Gilcrux-Grange", also the house and its land "called Ellenhall alias Mill-house" p. Gilcrux and Plumbland, also "all those Waste grounds and new Improvements" p. Gilcrux, also the water corn mill and kiln thereto called "Warthole alias Wardaile Mill" p. Plumbland and Gilcrux, also the "Walk or Fulling Mill and Dyehouse" in the said parishes of Plumbland and Gilcrux, also "all .. colemines and quarrys of Stone", and all tithes and rights of seignory; provision for suffering a recovery later
