the majority of the commissioners in a commission of bankrupt awarded against Thomas Lacon of Maesbrook, Kinnerley

 

2. John Lloyd of the Town of Oswestry, gent. and Richard Hilton of Knockin, gent.

 

A Commission of 17 June 1785 was issued against Thomas Lacon and now directed to Hart etc. with Thomas Mytton, Esq., who have found that Thomas Lacon for several years last past carried on the trade of a maltster, dealer and chapman and in the course of the trade became indebted to Richard Roberts of Llanyblodwel, gent. in £160 and became bankrupt. He was seized of property in Maesbrook Ucha in Kinnerley. So now 1. grant to 2., assignees of the bankrupt's estate:-

 

The house, farm and lands with the malthouse and buildings belonging in Maesbrook (Thomas Lacon) heretofore 2 tenements (John Lacon & Edward Davies)

 

The dwelling house with 2 pieces of land in Osbaston or Trospon, Kinnerley (heretofore Thomas Lacon and Margaret Davies, now Thomas Lacon)

 

The dwellinghouse in Maesbrook or Osbaston (now Richard Birch)

 

The dwelling house in Maesbrook or Osbaston (John Drayton and John Davies)

 

All other property of Thomas Lacon

 

To John Lloyd and Richard Hilton, to be held by them for their own benefit and of all the other creditors of Thomas Lacon who have sought relief or will do so, to sell the property, giving an account to the commissioners, paying the money to the commissioners who will distribute it among the creditors proportionately according to their debts, and until such money is paid to put the money on deposit in the hands of Messrs Thomas and James Mason, merchants and bankers in Shrewsbury when the amount is £100 or over.
