Documents in this "City Deeds" series were assigned a running number and catalogued on 5"x3" index cards, which were arranged in alphabetical order of street, with a 'General' section at the beginning for documents which were not more specifically attributable to a location. The catalogue is in two parts. The first section consists of documents catalogued by the City Library. The second section consists of a parallel sequence which appear to have been uncatalogued at the time of transfer and which were catalogued by Record Office staff but arranged in the same way. At the end of the second section is a list of items relating to places outside Gloucester which found their way into this collection in error. |
