Kingswood Abbey and Sir Maurice lord of Berkeley, son of Thomas de Berkeley. n.d.

 

The monks have granted to Maurice and all his tenants of Symundeshal free ingress and egress in their land of Egge, which they had by grant of Thomas de Berkeley, Maurice's brother, to lead and drive all animals to the water called Lodewell and to water them there.

 

Witnesses: Sir Peter de Stanford, sheriff of Gloucester, Master Peter de Brewys, Humphrey de la Barr, Robert de Hales, steward of Berkeley, William de Sanford, John de Dreycote, Andrew de Bratheston, William de Berkeley, Richard de Wik, Thomas Alein.
