Should he be appointed to a foreign station, he would be willing to nominate the Earl's son as his Captain. It would not matter that his son could not attend personally because Montagu would easily be able to find a Captain to take the place. Also mentions that he will support the Earl's interests whenever he returns to Huntingdonshire. [Robert Montagu was the elder son of the 4th Earl of Sandwich and Martha Ray].
