All Saints Church was severely damaged by bombing in September 1940 and Services were subsequently held at St Columb's, Lancaster Road. All Saints Church was reopened in april 1944 but was bombed again in June 1944, so that the church once more had to be closed and services held at St Columb's. All Saints Church was restored and reopened in April 1951. The parish was then united with half of St Columb's as All Saints with St Columb and St Columb's Church was closed.
