The donor Mrs. Irma Fleischer, later Farnsworth came to Manchester in 1939. Her husband Mr. Sylvain Daniel Fleischer came to England in 1939, having been interned in Saxenhausen concentration camp until April 1939. They met in Richborough transit camp and married in Ramsgate in 1940. Mr. Fleischer's parents Berthold and Irene Sara Fleischer ended up in the Warsaw Ghetto. The husband died but it was from Warsaw that Mrs. Irene Fleischer answered the Red Cross enquiries from her son and daughter-in-law. However she was not heard of after the war. |
