Alfriston County Primary School, Alfriston, East Sussex

A National School was established in 1844 on land conveyed by Smith's Charity. It continued until 1878, when a Board School took its place. The Board leased the National School premises from the vicar but a new school was built in North Road soon after the County Council took over responsibility for education
