Information of William Wilson, Customs Officer, preferred against Thomas Kent, seaman, for unshipping 35 gallons of brandy and 33 gallons of geneva at Felpham. Arrested by Robert Cawley Brown

 

2. Notes of Evidence of Henry Morris, of the Sussex Blockade, and Lieut. Brown (his commanding officer) against Thomas Kent

Notes of Evidence of Edward Baugh, mate of H.M.S. Hyperion employed on the coast blockade at Pagham, and Henry Thomas Raikes, esq., of Pagham, against John Brown

Information of William Wilson preferred against George Woodland of Selsey for concealing 3 gallons of brandy. Arrested by Richard James Woolver, officer of H.M.Navy. Attached notes of evidence of Dennis Sullivan, employed in the Blockade Service off Thorney, against an accomplice of Woodland's. [Woodland acquitted.]

Information of William Wilson preferred against Mark Arnell, seaman, for carrying 2½ gallons of geneva at Selsey. Arrested by Henry John Carr. On reverse, and attached, notes of Evidence of John Nanan of H.M.S. Hyperion and Norton Butler Alexander. [Prisoner convicted.]

Information of Charles Green, Supervisor of Excise, preferred against Taylor Johnson for being concerned with the conveying of 3 quarts of brandy without payment of duty at Sellers Park, Eastdean

 

[Prisoner acquitted.]

Information of William Wilson, preferred against Thomas Yeates, seaman, for having casks of the type used for smuggling spirits attached to his ship. Arrested by Robert Cawley Brown

Affidavit of Samuel Budd, quartermaster, employed in the Blockade Station off Pagham, concerning Thomas Caiger, Daniel Algood, Edward?Ticold and John Todd, and note of Evidence of Charles Grant to the effect that there was a wedding in Sidlesham 'and that it is usual when Persons of respectability marry to fire off guns by way of rejoicing'
