This was a National School, situated in Providence Place. In August 1891 the infants' section took over the building in Elder Place (opened in 1872) which had formerly housed the All Saints' Infants' School. In July 1928, the boys' department and the girls' department amalgamated to form a junior mixed school; the seniors were transferred to other schools
