Inquisition' post mortem of Jeremy Farmer, esq.

 

That on his death he was seized of Nethercote Grange in Middleaston and Steepleaston, Oxon. and 200 acres of arable, 30 acres meadow and 10 acres pasture with appurtenances in Middleaston and Steepleaston with 8 virgates of land belonging to George Sherleye and Benedict Halton and to the use of Jeremy Farmer and Jane his wife. He also had 4 messuages, 400 acres land, 60 acres of meadow, 100 acres of pasture, 20 acres of wood and underwood in Idburye, Foxcote and Bold. By will of Jeremy Farmer left all his lands in Oxfordshire to his wife Jane for life and then to Richard Farmer esq, Somerton, Oxford his nephew. Nethercote Grange was held of the Crown by military service at £4-10-0 p.a. The lands at Idbury, Foxcote and Bold were held of John Gaynesford at £6-13-4 p.a.
