Letters from various offices (government departments and other organisations) and individuals on matters related to Trinidad. Correspondents and subjects are as follows:

Offices:

  • House of Commons (supply of regular labour);
  • Crown Agent (fees on warrant for Puisne Judge Knox, despatch of boxes and bags, Mr Hook's salary, delay in sending two sets of weights, stone steps for government house, enquiry regarding the report of Commissioners on local taxation, investment in exchequer bills of £16000, expense of supplying water tank and books, supplies needed for new public buildings, requisition for medicines, payment of £2000 to the Land and Emigration Commissioners, two seals, desires to obtain a report of the Commissioners on the health of towns);
  • Board of Trade (report on petition relative to molasses and the discriminating duty between rum and British spirits);
  • Foreign Office (reply of consul at Marseilles to the memorial of Virgile Audrey, William Warner's power of attorney to receive the property of Jean Descovich [partially in French], appointment of L Livingstone as Portuguese Consul, agreement with Venezuela for the surrender of criminals, alleged illegal enslavement of Sophie Litté's children in Martinique, Mr Feez's appointment as Hamburg Consul);
