Commissioner Richard Hughes, Portsmouth. Receipt of letters and warrants to supply Vice Admiral Anson's Squadron with six cutters, to enter William Thompson, Boatswain of the Amazon, to survey the cargo of the Dutch Galliott hoy brought into Spithead by the Hector and send an account of their value, to fix seven stocks for swivel guns in the tops of the Kent, to make out bills in the name of John Smith for sheathing board, to send an account of such keel pieces of John Wallis as are fitting and wanting for the service, to carefully survey the Dispatch Sloop to discover why she is proving to be such a bad vessel, to issue a sufficient quantity of canvas to Samuel Miller for making the sails for the new 24-gun sloop building by Richard Chitty and Partner and to make the usual allowances to the riggers and extra men employed in launching, transporting, mooring and rigging the Viper Sloop, lately launched at Poole. Has paid the men turned over from the Royal George into the Viper Sloop
