Description:

Heligoland (now Helgoland, Germany). Three sheets, comprising two copies of a set of plans and elevations of a blockhouse, with detailed measurements; item (5) consists of two joined sheets, with items (3-4) being copies of the right-hand and left-hand sheets respectively. Reference notes on materials and construction to items (3) and (5). Scale:1 inch to 4 feet. [Copied from original drawings] dated 19 August 1807; copied by 'R T', December 1811. A note to item (5) states: 'The original of this plan was prepared by the Contractors, Messrs Adams & Co. of Lambeth, in August 1807, for a Blockhouse; and which was ordered by the Master General to be erected at Heligoland. The construction is the same as for one ordered for St. Domingo [?i.e. Santo Domingo, Hispaniola (now in the Dominican Republic)] some time before'.
