A collection of papers, memoranda etc. formerly kept in the 'S' series of the library of the Board of Inland Revenue, arising from various inquiries by Royal Commissions, departmental committees etc. into taxation matters and revenue legislation.

Included in the series are various reports etc. concerning internal organization and machinery of tax collection and a few concerning postage and discal stamps. There are also papers dealing with tax questions arising from the Government of Ireland Act 1920.
