Description:
Petitioners: Thomas Wodestok (Woodstock), William Glasiere, John Plomer, Adam Mason, William Thomas, Edmund Chapman, John Chayn and Richard Chayn of Aylesbury, in the name of the commons of Aylesbury.

Nature of request: The petitioners complain that the Bailiff and Constables of Aylesbury would not investigate a party of strangers who came to Aylesbury and lodged there on the Monday before the Circumcision last, who claimed to be Irish, on pilgrimage under safe-conduct from the King and the Duke of Ireland, and that when they did investigate, the Bailiff and Constables told them off and threatened them. They state that everything they did was good and well-intentioned, and ask that the Bailiff and Constables might be summoned before the King and lords to be punished for their disloyalty, and to provide security that the petitioners will be able to live peacefully in the town.
Nature of endorsement: On account of this bill the Sheriff of Buckinghamshire has been ordered to summon before the King in Chancery at the quinzaine of Trinity next, wherever he then is, William Caldecote, Bailiff, and Richard Saltere and John Draper, Constables of the town of Aylesbury, to answer to what is written here and to other things which by the King etc. And the same day is given to the parties prosecuting for the King etc.
