M. Puech [the French commissary], who has been ordered by Vendôme to propose an exchange of prisoners to Adam Cardonnel. If it is accepted, there must be a conference between the two armies. Vendôme asks Marlborough for all the [French] officers who are in France and whose leave has expired, for which he will exchange equivalent officers from [those imprisoned at] Bordeaux. 1,600 infantry, cavalry and dragoons imprisoned in the united provinces are also proposed for exchange.
