Description:

Cape Colony and Natal (now in South Africa). Two similar maps, each titled 'Rough Sketch referred to in Sir Walter Currie's Report', of land between the Kei and Umgeni Rivers, showing tribal and other divisions, locations of livestock, agricultural land, routes, and boundaries. Scale: 1 inch to about 24 miles. Both maps bear a reference table. and compass indicator and have lines of latitude and longitude superimposed. (3) Signed by C.N. Thomas, Surveyor General's Department, Cape Town. This map originally accompanied Sir G Grey's letter tot he Duke of Newcastle 21 June 1861.(4) This map originally accompanied W Currie's report to Sir George Grey. (3) 29 cm x 43 cm, (4) 31 cm x 56 cm.
