The 1949 Act required the creation of maps to show lands to which were attached common rights over the forest. Such lands had previously been recorded in a register compiled in accordance with the New Forest Deer Removal etc Act (14 & 15 Vic c. 76) and the New Forest Act 1854 (17 & 18 Vic c 49). A copy of this register was to be deposited at the Office of Land Revenue Records and Enrolments. The parish boundaries depicted on the maps are those which existed when the register was compiled. The 1964 Act provided for the creation of similar maps, following a change in Forest boundaries. |
