Publication note: |
Annual reports of the Board of Education and its successor, the Ministry of Education, were published as Parliamentary Papers. A complete series of these and Statistics of Education may be seen, subject to prior application to the Librarian, at the headquarters of the Department of Education and Science. |
Administrative / biographical background: |
Until 1960 (except for the period of the Second World War, when no report was produced), educational statistics were annexed to the annual report of the Board of Education and its successor, the Ministry of Education. The effects of the Education Act 1944 led to a demand for more detailed statistics and, since 1961, these have been published separately under the title Statistics of Education. |
