Returns: 1. Small arms (serviceable) in store, at home and abroad. 2. Iron ordnance of established patterns belonging to the defences at home and abroad, on board ship, and in store at home and abroad. 3. Iron ordnance in store at home and abroad, butof natures not at present in use in the service. 4. Brass ordnance in store at home and abroad, and on board ship. 5. Return of garrison ordnance belonging to the defences at the several stations at home and abroad, in charge of the commanding officers of artillery, 31st Dec. 1858. 6. Brass ordnance return of the Field Artillery in charge of the Royal Artillery, and in reserve in the United Kingdom. 7. Effective strength of the regular army, in the United Kingdom, on 1st Jan. 1859. 8. Effective strength of the embodied militia on 1st Jan. 1859. 9. Return of the number of recruits raised, from 1st Sept. 1857 to 15th Jan. 1859. 10. Return of the Queen's Troops serving in since on 1st July, 1857, and of those since embarked and under orders to proceed to that country. |
