Description:

This series is made up of those deeds that were separated from those in DL 25 in the early nineteenth century and bound into volumes.

Despite the series title the deeds are not all charters, although the greater proportion are title deeds of various kinds concerning the estates of the earldom and duchy of Lancaster, and documents subidiary to them. Other records in the series include writs, accounts and correspondence; private papers of Duchy officers; and exhibits in equity causes in the Court of Duchy Chamber.
