This series consists of individual collections of departmental correspondence of the British Museum (Natural History) Department of Mineralogy.

This series consists of individual correspondence files and volumes of a number of staff in the Department, together with a larger collection of papers relating to meteorites.

The papers relating to meterorites consists of boxed folders of letters and other papers each relating to an individual specimen or fall. The other papers range over the whole work of the department.

There is a card index of writers represented in the meterorite papers in DF 3/1-3
