Yü-t'ai to Bonham. Both Buddhist monastery of Shen-kuang-ssu where two British missionaries lived, and Taoist monastery of Tao-shan-kuan, where they lived subsequently, are inside city of Foochow where non-diplomatic personnel have no right to be. Magistrate who endorsed initial renting of Shen-kuang-ssu by mistake has now been dismissed by Emperor. |
